Boca’s Prakas Group handles restaurant deals

Bucky’s Rib comes to town on Dixie Hwy.; On the Rox owner to take over Joe’s Pub

Athan “Tom” Prakas, president/ broker of The Prakas Group Inc., a full service real estate brokerage specializing in commercial transactions, restaurants and nightclubs, has announced the completion of a restaurant lease and a restaurant sale.

Prakas handled the following two transactions:

Mark Rodberg or assigns has leased 4,100 square feet of space at 1299 N. Dixie Highway, Boca Raton, for Bucky’s Ribs. The landlord is Tony Bova of Bova & Bova Hospitality Investment Group. Prakas was the exclusive broker representing all parties in the lease transaction. The lease is valued at $2.1 million.

The location for Bucky’s Ribs will be at the former site of Grinder’s Hot Grill and the famous Boca Raton rib restaurant, Tom’s Place, which occupied the space for 25 years. The restaurant’s occupancy is 150 guests.

“Bucky’s Ribs is stepping into a location that promises great success based on its previous tenants,” Prakas remarked.

Taylor Smith of On the Rox has purchased Joe’s Pub of Delray, a 3,200-square foot nightclub/lounge located at 19-23 NE 5th St., Delray Beach. Prakas was exclusive broker representing the buyer as well as the seller, Joe’s Pub, Inc. The restaurant can accommodate 100-plus guests. The sale is valued at $550,000.

Taylor Smith previously owned two other nightclub/lounges, Vivid and Gossip, located on Clematis Street in West Palm Beach. According to Prakas, “The proximity to the thriving nightlife climate near Atlantic Avenue is a natural fit for a hot nightclub like On the Rox.”
